More Than Just a Wake Park
List of infrastructure facilities that will help provide for everything and not forget anything
To make a wake park a truly great place for active family recreation by the water, you need a bit more than just a water skiing track with a great set of obstacles.

A convenient and well-thought-out wake park infrastructure will help ensure comfortable stay for guests on the territory. And make guests want to come back to you again and again.

We've compiled a list of wake park infrastructure facilities for you according to the "maximum" program. After all, it's always easier to cross out the unnecessary than to come up with everything from scratch, and then inevitably forget something.
Directly sports part:
  • Cable-tow systems
  • Obstacles
  • Starting platform
  • Exit paths from the track
  • Buoys. Especially necessary in wake parks located near swimming beaches and boat stations
Infrastructure:
  • Changing room
  • Equipment rental point, of course this also includes the rental equipment itself: wakeboards, bindings, vests, helmets, wetsuits
  • Lockers for storing personal belongings
  • Toilet (mandatory), shower (if possible)
  • Parking
  • Rest area / waiting area. In the rest area, we recommend placing sofas, benches, sun loungers or bean bags. This area should be in the shade so visitors have somewhere to hide from the scorching sun. Even better to use tents or canopies that will help not lose visitors during rain
  • Staff room and storage for inventory: tools, equipment parts, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • First aid kit. In addition to the minimum set of medications, we recommend having insect repellent and sunscreen in the wake park. Burn remedies won't be superfluous either
  • Rescue boat + trained lifeguard. A boat with a lifeguard is necessary in case of athlete injuries on the water skiing track. Remember that at least one of your employees must have an official Lifeguard certificate.
  • Children's playground or children's corner
  • Trash cans in sufficient quantity
  • Outlets for visitors
  • Wi-Fi
  • Speakers and music accompaniment to create the atmosphere you need
  • Stand with safety rules in the wake park
  • Cafe / bar. This will prevent visitors from leaving for lunch. If there's no opportunity to organize a cafe-bar, then as a backup option offer visitors free tea/coffee or organize a mini-market where visitors can find something to snack on
  • Board shop
  • Hostel / hotel
  • Banya / sauna / hot tub. Warming procedures will help significantly delay the closing of the season and open the season a bit earlier than usual
  • Water park / inflatable water park or inflatable obstacle course on the water area.
Additional sports entertainment:
  • Mini ramp or surfskate ramp
  • Balance boards
  • Trampoline
  • Slackline
  • SUP boards
  • Ping pong
  • Workout area or exercise equipment
  • Pegboard or peg maze — recently popular among wakeboarders crossfit equipment for developing shoulder strength, in the Russian version these trainers are called Corkin wall
  • Runway with landing on a cushion or in water
  • Climbing wall
  • Blob
  • Rope park
  • Volleyball / football / streetball court
  • Beach / pool

Leisure:
  • Hammock / Swings
  • Board games like Jenga, checkers, chess, etc.
  • Active games for groups like Twister, etc.
  • Glossy magazines and books
  • Table football / hockey

For competitions:
  • Judging area. Preferably located on water or at height, away from spectators and starting zone
  • Official bulletin board
  • Podium
  • Spectator stands
Places for sponsor advertising:
  • Banners
  • Winders
  • Stands with printed products, etc.

Well-thought-out infrastructure not only improves visitors' attitude towards your location, but also contributes to the successful operation of the wake park, ensuring its sustainable development.
